In 2017, JD moved to Bronte located in Ward One, and now calls this beautiful part of Oakville his home.JD has always wanted to serve his community and contribute positively to Oakville and Canada.

In 2018, JD represented the town of Oakville as one of the delegates in the Ontario PC convention, where he voted on various party policies and motions.

My action plan includes...

Conduct a long overdue money for value audit of town finances. We have not had one in over a decade. My goal, if savings are found from the money for value audit will be applied to property taxes as well as other services.
A Fresh Start.Let's Do It!
Parking review and an end to predatory towing in Bronte. We want Bronte to be viewed as a desirable location for shopping and visiting.
A Fresh Start.Let's Do It!
Coyote attacks have been on the rise in the Halton region. It is imperative to keep our families and our pets safe. I will push for a solution that works for both the coyotes and the people of Ward One. This is a cross regional effort to make this a reality.
A Fresh Start.Let's Do It!
Target and focus on the needs of the Palermo residents who were rezoned to Ward one in 2018. I will gather input from the residents of the Palermo neighbourhood if they are interested in having a recreational center, plaza, library. Ward 7 scrapped a 60 million $ YMCA recreational center because the incumbents demanded the recreational center be owned by the town of Oakville, thus putting a substantial cost on the tax payers.
A Fresh Start.Let's Do It!
Restoring our Arts & Culture in Oakville is a priority. Prior to the pandemic lockdowns, we had four theatre groups in Oakville, we now have two, with one barley hanging on. We must make the artistic climate feasible once again to restore our artistic innovators in the community.
A Fresh Start.Let's Do It!
Local business is the lifeblood of a thriving community. Having worked at two of the three Oakville BIA (Business Improvement Areas) I understand the importance of building the local economy of Bronte Village and making it a true destination for locals and visitors.
A Fresh Start.Let's Do It!
Put an end to illegal fentanyl trafficking in Halton and no injection sites. I want to keep crime low, a safe police presence and not lose our officers to other regions because the cost of living is too high.
A Fresh Start.Let's Do It!
It is important to recognize our Urban Indigenous in the Halton region. I will push for a portion of one of our parks to be utilized for our Urban Indigenous for their various requirements and cultural uses.
A Fresh Start.Let's Do It!
Seniors make up a significant part of the population in Oakville. It is no surprise that access to services may be a challenge for some of them. I will ensure that public sidewalks are safe and accessible. Expand public transit to include special routes for daily basics for seniors. Fixed income pensioners deserve a tax break which will be generated from the value added audit.
A Fresh Start.Let's Do It!
STOP the development near Bronte Creek Provincial Park. ( westside of Bronte Regional Road ) ARGO ( Saw-Whet) has acquired the land in an undisclosed deal keeping the residents of ward 1 in the dark. This deal will encroach on Treaty 22 territory by building near a protected green space. When I am Regional Councillor I will fight tooth and nail to stop the efforts to build on this spot. I propose Halton purchase this land and convert this into a heritage park.

All new multi-storey developments will include green spaces. I want to ensure our construction development is reflective of our population density while maintaining the character preservation of our neighbourhoods.
A Fresh Start.Let's Do It!
Restoring Shell Park Beach. Current council destroyed the beach. Eleven million $'s was spent to remove a few slabs of concrete and metal. The sand that was once there was replaced with soil, trees were destroyed and the area is a mess. This all happened during the peak summer season. I will make this a restoration project keeping ward one beautiful.
A Fresh Start.Let's Do It!
Push for a Floride free Halton water system.
A Fresh Start.Let's Do It!
Congestion is a serious dilemma. It’s time we look after best practices such as municipalities like Vancouver, who utilize smart traffic sensors. Not only will this help with congestion, this will also reduce the idle times spent at lights which cause more pollution. Not to mention, people start to speed out of frustration.
A Fresh Start.Let's Do It!
Add a public registry of municipal lobbyists, ensuring transparency for our municipal governments.
A Fresh Start.Let's Do It!
A promise made 8 years ago to have the Wyecroft bridge completed, is still yet to be complete. Similarly, this is true for the Burloak underpass. In 2018, the project was first quoted at $60 Million, it has now increased to $177.3 Million. These delays are unacceptable and unaccountable to tax payers. I will see the completion of projects in a timely manner, which includes all major infrastructure projects that are paused. It's time to get the ball rolling.
